Internet speed problems

So my PC arrived this morning and it runs smoothly, connected to the internet wirelessly using WIRELESS 802.11N 300Mbps PCI-E CARD but my download speed fails to exceed 100kb/s, on my other devices I get 2.5-3mb/s. Any advice on how I can fix this would be great.

Edit: 2 minutes after posting this everything just sped up to normal speed, leaving it here incase it drops again.

If you get the speed elsewhere then it's likely to be the ability of your card to detect the network... how far from the router is it?

Well its all working now, and i have 4-5 bars connection to my router that is better than my laptop gets in the same place. I'm wondering if it was auto updates of drivers and such that didn't show up in task manager as it was first bootup.
