Ionico 17.3" QHD Intel i7 12700H / 3070Ti - First impressions

Hi everyone,

After one week usage, below are my first feedback:
+ quality build feels nice with solid screen hinges and mat metal finitions
+ very transportable for a 17.3" having a 3070 Ti (important as I am travelling by plane twice a month)
+ as expected great CPU/GPU, I have very good performance on Elden Ring, God of War and Battlefield 2042

- loud fans on max load and CPU can reach 100°C in extreme use
- limited battery life but still ok for such power (I have reached 2h30 on low refresh rate and on battery saving mode, so a bit annoying if you are watching a longer movie without the plug)
- super large and heavy A/C adapter

Overall very happy about this super thin but powerful laptop. It is a bit expensive for a laptop in general but in lower range prices for French equivalent configurations.

Quick question: I have read than on 12th gen CPU, it is not possible to undervolt the CPU on other processors than the 12900HK. It seems that the Control Centre undervolting parameter changes does not impact the CPU. Do you know if there is another way to keep the CPU temp below 95°C.

Cheers !

Hello, I have the same laptop and I'm sorry to say that neither XTU nor ThrottleStop support undervolting our CPU.

The only solution I've found was to play with PL1/PL2 limits to find your optimal performance/temperature compromise.

FYI these are mine:
PL1 45w
PL2 60w
PL4 115w
TCC Offset 10
