Is my cooling enough to overclock?

And my question is if i overclock with my CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA motherboard by how much could i do so? and would it be safe with my powersupply and cpu cooling i did pay extra for my cpu cooler but wondered if its enough, any tips would be great thank you

It can be overclocked, but keep an eye on the temperatures as the CPU cooler is not recommended for serious overclocking. You may also wish to invest in some better CPU paste to ensure the contact is kept as good as possible.

I don't know much about AMD mate so I might not be too much help but one thing I do know is that a lot of it will depend on ambient room temperature if it's in a warm room then you will never get great temps with whatever you use. I would have thought you could go to 4ghz with that case and cooling though, Although you won't get the ram to go at full speed. You could do 3.8 easy and your ram would be at recommended speed as well, also if you select the PCS overclock option they will do it for you for like £10 with better thermal paste.
