Is there a way to disable startup programs?

Hi again :)
Just though I would ask another question after the help I got with my last one.
Is there a way to view the startup programs and disable some of them?
I know that it is better to uninstall them but I just wanted to stop them starting up first.

To start with you could look in your start-up folder.
To get a bit more in depth you could hold the windows key - type msconfig - start-up. That will show most of the programs that are set to start up when you load windows.
Uninstall them after if you don't want them any more. It's more efficient than just disabling them :)

Thanks for this :)
Worked a treat.

Totally off topic, and I apologise. I was trying to persuade the rest of the family to let me call our last puppy Chewbacca but no one else was on board! It's an awesome name I think...
