It will run Xubuntu, there’s at least one forum user who uses that OS with that model. Do you need any advice on the spec itself? A four core CPU and 32GB RAM isn’t a combo we see all that often. Although if you’re using Chrome and have three tabs open it may be warranted.

Not a problem, your English is better than my French! 🙃

What budget do you have to spend on the new laptop? One of our resident team may be able to help you optimise the system if you’re looking for any assistance 👍

French is hard to learn ahah

I've not a specific budget, but specific specs, 32go ram and i7, long battery for long coding session, no dedicated graphics card to save battery and weight, and 15" screen, it's good specs for a laptop if I want use for a long time imo

I think this lafité pro is perfect for what I want, but if someone else can recommand me better laptop, I'll be glad to see it 😁

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 on mine. Everything seems to work out of the box except keyboard backlight.

This is how I was able to get keyboard backlight control keys to work:
  1. Disable SecureBoot: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UEFI/SecureBoot/DKMS
  2. Install this: https://github.com/tuxedocomputers/tuxedo-keyboard
I didn't test HDMI output yet.
Thanks for this post it is very helpful. I am about to order the same machine.
I wonder if you would care to share the specification - especially the type of memory & SSD.
I see that the BIOS allows SecureBoot to be turned off. Were you able to install Ubuntu 22.04 with SecureBoot enabled? I have succeeded in doing this on some Linux laptops.
Can you tell me if Hardware Virtualisation can be enabled in the BIOS. Apparently PCS disables it sometimes, even though it is in the Clevo BIOS.
It would be a help to know about the HDMI output if you are able to test it.

Your post answers some of the questions that I had here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...tife-pro-15-6-with-linux-latest-kernel.88733/ I think I may decided to go for this and find a docking station that will give the display output I wish.

Thanks again for you help.
