Well after a very very long day at work I finally got home to the new PC.

HUGE box! Took two of us to get it up the stairs, got 2 video reviews of it and will take some pics in a moment!

Massivley silent and flying along at the moment! Only issue I have found so far is the UFO Surge protector does not like my PC being plugged into it! Had to plug my PC directly into the wall socket before it would turn on :( Defeats the object of getting the protector really so any ideas from the team would be great.

Also the other MASSIVE issue I have with it, IE8 didnt have spellcheck installed! So you are going to have to put up with my bad spelling and typing!

Anyway, will update with pics etc soon, just getting the essentials up and running!

At last! haha Hope you enjoy it mate :)

I'd definitely work on getting that surge protector working properly! Not being funny but its not got a switch on it itself has it? My belkin one has a switch on it to turn the whole thing off instead of having to turn it off at the wall. You really DON'T want your brand new machine being fried because of a surge! My protector has saved my PC 2 or 3 times already! :)

Looking forward to the pics and video :)

Agreed with the Surge protector and congrats mate :)

I remember the first real gaming machine I built from scratch. Getting on and playing that first game, with surround sound, 22" screen, smooth graphics all on high....my lord, suffice to say i nearly needed some tissues :D

Also, IE8 - EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I have no sympathy and do not blame the build team for not touching it ;)

Can't wait for the pictures. I'll do the same when I get my new sexy laptop soon :D

Working on sig etc, currently restoring 300GB of my Steam library! Then move some of it to my SSD, then install the other 150games I have not installed!

Think I worked out the surge protector a bit.. There was a master socket I did not see the writing under the desk in the dark! PC is now plugged into the Master, both monitors are plugged into the Always On sockets but do not know hwo to get power to the other sockets for my external HDD etc.

Firefox no installed aswell, just need to add the add-ons like spell check and new tab homepage etc. While I wait I might aswell take some pics and change my sig so.... BRB!

I had the exact same problem with the surge protector to start with - pc wouldn't work at all and i was starting to panic.
Unplugged everything i had plugged into it, plugged pc then monitor back into it and hey presto it was working. Seemed a bit strange.
Hope you enjoy your mean machine as much as i am mine.

Pretty impressive-looking piece of kit.

I'm not a Gamer. However it used to be said a few years-ago, that you needed a Gaming PC Spec for Video Editing. But Games then, aren't what they are now.

There was a PC specially built to Run I think Doom Raider? at £2000.

FWIW - A colleague has recently purchased a Dell Xeon Workstation for £4000! For supposedly 3D Imaging & Animation & had to return it. A bit over-the-top, IMO.

So, looks like we're getting a lot of bang for our bucks with our Custom Builds from PCSpecialist.

Looks like you have a total Gaming experience there. I expect you're thrilled with your purchase.

Im guessing you guys have the power saving protectors.

Master socket, always on sockets and a few slave sockets.

So plug the PC in to th master and the speakers / monitor etc into the slaves.

When you power off the PC the slaves will also power off.

The always on sockets, i think you can guess what they do.

Aaaah!

And I didnt click what it meant by UFO Surge Protector until I took it out the box!

Still not played a game on ym PC yet :( Hopefully can load up a game tonight when I get home, Be Internet will be slightly annoyed with me downloading about 400GB this weekend, been going at 1.1MB/s since I hooked up the new PC so thats 18hours at 1.1MB/s constant.. :D

WoW downloaded, Fallen Earth downloaded, Star Trek Online downloaded, and about 17 Steam games all downloading at the moment.
