The 17" screen is a must for me.

I wanted the fat SSD - I'm cutting all ties with HDDs now, other than my NAS drive.

In all honesty, the only reason there's a dedicated GPU there is due to the monitor/resolution. The fact that a GPU is present allows me to do some light gaming. This is a 90% business use machine.

90% of gaming (not that i have much time now) will be done on my 4.8ghz i7 / gtx980 desktop

Ah right, fair enough!

Only other thing I would suggest is getting the killer wifi card, it's much more reliable, I have it in my laptop and don't regret it :)

Thanks. What would the benefits be to me personally? There will be some (very light) data transfer at home. Other than that, i'll mainly be browsing, working with github etc

The killer card is more reliable plus it tends to have a better range compared to the basic one. Some people complain about the standard one is all.
