Lafité II power button not working - Debian Stretch [SOLVED]

hi,

powers up fine (obv)

but pressing results in no action, no acpi event, no key press or anything in xev


any clues anyone?

ha, so... its turns out it was user error

the power button only fires if pressed for about 1 second...

problem solved
