Lafité III 15.6"

Hey,

Just picked up a Lafité III 15.6" with ..

Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor i7-8565U
16GB Corsair 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4
960GB ADATA
No OS

Nice machine and running well. I have just dropped Red Hat (RHEL 7.6) on it, which mostly worked as expected. As reading other threads I managed to get the RGB keyboard back-lighting (and hot keys working), all the other hotkeys for screen backlight etc... all worked as expected . However, I haven't managed to get the finger print scanner working, has anyone managed this yet?

Thanks for posting up about your experience of Linux and the 15.6" Lafite as it's always helpful for people thinking about getting one.

There's been some general interest in the chassis on the forums; if you had time to post some comments on the chassis too I think quite a few people would be interested Though no pressure ofc.

I'd say I didn't really try, rather than I tried everything but came up empty!

I'll have to have a go at the keyboard backlights now that I know it can be done.

I haven't actually used the laptop now for a couple of weeks :whistling: but I will be dusting it off tomorrow so I will grab what I did and post it up here for you! I need to do this anyway as I actually got two of the laptops but only did the work on one!
