Hey I am in need of a second monitor and I am trying to use my laptop I plug in my HDMI cable into my laptop and Desktop monitor but that doesn't work and nor does using the VGA of the PC monitor into the DVI of the laptop I am not sure if I am doing something wrong I have watched videos and followed whatever I can but my desktop is simply never detecting my laptop and if I try from the laptops end it detects the PC and has the name, however when I extend the displays all I have is the background of the laptop and nothing moves over from the desktop and if I duplicate the screens they stay in their own original forms neither is duplicated. Could someone please help ASAP.
