Hello,

How does this spec look? To be used for web design and software development. It will be in my backpack daily to and from work via motorbike. General use + development i.e. running visual studio, various extensions, multiple browser tabs, music etc all simutatiosly. I will be 50/50 plugged into second monitor (extended display). No gaming - I have a dedicated rig for that (when i have time!)...

A little worried about the full hd screen and the size of the text. But I feel a 17.3" may be too large....? I've been in a local store and I can't decide between the monitor size.

Generally 17 inch screens are a little bulky to carry around but you can certainly do it.

The text size on a 15 inch display is fine for me but monitors are a bit more to do with individual taste, you have already had a look in store so I cant really suggest anything else.

Personally id opt for the 17 inch screen and take the (minor) pain of lugging it into work every day, so long as I didn't have to move it around too much once I was in work.

I agree with Mantadog. I use 17inch as I find the screen area much better and easier to use than a smaller screen. If you are on a train or plain they are a pain but just carrying to work and back, as long as you have a decent backpack, should not be a great problem. You may find a 15inch OK but it is an expensive mistake to make if not, so I would go for the bigger screen.

Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. I too am leaning towards the 17" screen. The 15.6 at 1080 is just too small for me. In store, using the 17.3" display, I even had to go to 125% size (in display settings) to feel completely comfortable. Then again, i think im due another eye test...!

Thanks
As the ultranote doesn't come in 17" inch, looks like i need to start over.. :(
