Just wanted to share my views on my new laptop from Pc Spec. Specs below.

I researched extensively for my new laptop and finally purchased the Vortex IX. Big shout out to the forum chaps and especially SpyderTracks for steering me in the right direction. Apart from having to initially send it back due to flex in keyboard and led lights not working at the front (quickly resolved by pc spec) I couldnt be more pleased.

The RTX 2070 is a beast, running everything on ultra (metro exodus etc) with no dips in frames and with ray tracing on.

The fans kick in nicely (with a bit of noise as you expect) and need to slightly raise laptop (with help from £2 rubber laptop stands from ebay) to keep the flow going. But the cooling on this chassis is perfect and no issues with temp.

The main reason I bought this is due to the investment in VR. The Oculus Quest i have (using thunderbolt port with official oculus link cable) works like a dream. Runs in full settings and no issues whatsoever. Couldnt be more pleased.

The only negative - the speakers. Horrendous quality (tinny and bad sound) but its to expect with a laptop this size i suppose?

Headphones all the way anyway if you are using for gaming or VR.

I'm so pleased it meets expectations! And especially happy that the thermals are up to par. IMHO, that's by far the best all out gaming chassis that PCS provide, it's a beuatiful chassis.

RE: the speakers, yes, unfortunately this is one area that Clevo fail to deliver on pretty much across the board.
All laptop speakers are pretty poor, with the best probably being on MacBook Pro's where they've invested an awful lot of money into developing new tech alongside their HomePods. But most manufacturers don't have that secondary research sideline.

External speakers or headphones are pretty much unanimously advised for any laptop though really.
