Laptop Run Time

Hey guys,

I've had my Vortex 2 for about 5 months now and am now concious that the machine is only ever turned off when im at work it must run from about 10 hours a day, i always keep it clean i.e the vents etc and always keep it off the worktops so that it has good ventelation.

Does this seem like an alright period of time for the machine to be running? Not that there is much i can do about it if its not. One thing i though i might do is remove the battery as its on charge 24-7 and only ever off to move it from one location to the other.

Just looking for ideas or advice to give the machine a good life span. I'm a heavy gamer and its probibly on full load at about 3-4 hours at a time when gaming.

my current, soon to be replaced Acer laptop has been running for about 7 hours a day for at least 330 days a year for the last 7 years.

still fine, just slow with current software.

switching electonic devices on and off puts more stress on them than leaving them powered on in my experiance.
