Laptop Screen Help

Bit of a strange one, got me stuck...

My laptop, specs below - has had issues with the screen for about a year now, but it has been intermittent; until recently.
The screen is only displaying the top left section of the display, I can click and interact with button/icons that aren't in the display.
From pic, the notepad is the part of the screen I can only see

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before, or any ideas?

I have uninstalled, both graphics drivers (Intel and nVidia), and no effect, I have done a reset and no effect.
Checked all resolution settings, nothing is off?

Any ideas - would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a pcspecialist laptop? Could you post your full specs from the order page?

It's definitely a resolution thing by the looks of things. It looks like it's been overdriven to a resolution that the display isn't capable of.

The display res at the moment is set to 2048x1536 (reccomended).
If I set to 1920x1080, it gets worse.

I am not sure why you are recommended to go to 2048 x 1536 when the laptop chassis monitor is only a 1080.

Sounds as if you might have desktop larger than screen size hence windows is not showing up properly.

Have you checked your display settings - scale and layout section at all to make sure all looks ok in there?

Make sure advanced scaling hasnt been set somewhere.

Set to 1080p resolution and 100% only scale - ensure Landscape and not portrait is set too.

Put through the resolution, and this is what I get. Only difference is blurry and there's a black bar at the top now.
Have checked through all settings as well, all look ok?

You may have to reboot after making those changes.

Once you have, can you post a screenshot of your windows update page?

Godlike
Have you tried doing a full clean install of Windows from scratch?
I don't fully understand what the fault is because the original post is quite hard to decipher but from what @SpyderTracks has covered already I would be starting from scratch.

Yes I have, still the same issue, after a fresh install its intermittent then just stays that way

Basically, from what you see on the first pic, titled screen, my display is only showing the part filled by the notepad app.
Everything else, is not on my display

How did you do your clean install? Talk us through the steps you took?

Could you also open your device manager and screen shot please - can you expand the display adaptors and also advise if tehre are any with exclamation mark / warning triangles on it - anything in Other Devices section?
