Hi there,
So my laptop has recently been shutting down by itself during gaming. This will happen randomly but only when a game is running, not with other activities. I've had this laptop since 2017 and never had this specific problem, the only time a significant problem happened was about a few months after purchase the laptop suddenly shut down and did not switch back on. This happened when there was a slight static current when my hand touched the body of the laptop. This was fixed after an RMA with PCspecialist and ever since nothing happened until now.
I did a repasting a few months back this year and there didn't seem to be any problems until a few weeks later. The temperatures of the GPU and CPU typically runs around 75-85°C during long periods of gaming, this was after the repasting, before that it was around 80-95°C. No damage was made during the repasting and all the wiring was done correctly during the disassembly of the heatsink and other parts (I followed a youtube video guide as it was my first time doing a repaste).
I have ordered some new thermal paste and plan to do a repasting again because I think I might have done it incorrectly but still not sure if its the main cause of the problem.
Thanks for reading and I would really appreciate it if someone could give some insight to the issue. I really hope that it's something that I can fix and not some kind of permanent damage where I would need to get a new PC as money is quite tight atm.
