I was thinking of getting a new laptop in order to work on 1D simulations and data analysis. This is why I need both RAM (manipulation of large excel files from experimental data) and CPU to perform multiple 1D simulations concurrently. I would appreciate any comments and feedback since I am not an expert in laptops configuration. For example, is there so much difference between the i7 and i5 suggested 11th generation processors?
