Ok so my laptop has been with me five years now and always been fine. Was using it earlier this evening and no issues. I stepped away for a few minutes to deal with my kids and came back to a dark screen and a powered off laptop. I did a few quick checks; tried powering it back on nothing. No lights showing on the laptop case to indicate it's got power. Power supply light is off. Took power supply off and plugged into a different socket and the light came on, plugged it back into the laptop and the light goes out immediately. Suspect it's a short circuit or the motherboard has given up. But I've ordered a replacement charger to test it before I have to face the prospect of getting a replacement laptop or costly repairs which probably won't be an option based on the age of the unit itself. Has anyone else had a similar issue and what was the outcome for you.
