EDIT: I've just seen you've changed the NZXT Case to the Corsair 5000D which is a good choice

Other than that I'd probably change your storage set up to have one 500GB 980 Pro for the OS and one 1TB PCS M2 SSD for your storage

I would strongly recommend changing that case mate, you're putting top end components into a case with not great airflow they are going to cook in there

I'd recommend the Corsair 680x, The Coolermaster SL600M, Corsair Obsidian 500D or the Be Quiet! 601

The 5000D Airflow is excellent..... although that's not what comes up when the configuration link is pressed so clarification is required.

With the 5000D I would probably add an extraction fan to go along with the 2 in there and the cooler you have selected.

I would also add the warranty for a fiver, well worth it if you have any issues.

Would the H150i Elite Capellix for £13 more not be a cheap 'extra cooling upgrade' (and more RGB) for that behemoth of a GPU/CPU combo

The H115i is actually more than capable of handling the 5950x but hey sure if you wanted a little bit more reassurance you could go for the H150i. It's not a necessity in my opinion though

The sexiest part of fans is RGB 🥰 Would you think to change 5000D to 5000X? If you want, you can buy and change a case front panel from 5000D separately and to put on the 5000X.

I have now made three amendments - Case, PSU and Silver warranty (they don't show up when I click the share though...)

But you can get an extra RGB fan for only £13 😁

Though apparently the 5000X has good airflow in its own right -- I'd want to find out how the temperatures before making the change. Great that it's possible though.

Oh, absolutely. I just mean that I'd find out what the temperatures were for my particular machine/setup before I put effort and money into improving them.
I would see a 5000X being more flexible for improvement - changing a front panel, fans already come as RGB. While 5000D isn't as much for improvement in a sense that it comes with plain non-RGB fans. So I don't know if throwing them out and replacing with RGB fans would make sense money-wise. But that's just my thinking. All depends on what fans are preferred.

Yeah, I think we're talking at cross purposes, @Citrus_9. I agree the 5000X is great and a better choice, and the fact that you can fit the Airflow front panel is amazing. All I'm saying is that I'd use the stock configuration first rather than assuming I'd definitely change the front panel: it might well not be necessary.

Thanks all - my estimated build date got pushed back from Monday (to Tuesday!), I am going to hold off on fans until I see what it ships with and measure some temps (easy enough to order and add later).

Last minute change: Corsair H150i RGB PRO XT Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler (Slightly cheaper - less RGB)
