Linux Compatibility For 15.6 IONICO Laptop

Hello,

I am looking at purchasing a new laptop but would love to move away from windoze as the primary OS. Ideally Ubuntu with virtual machine running a very debloated version of windoze removing telemetry and all the other utter nonsense.

My question is does anyone have something v similar to this spec and can confirm all the drivers are available and working?

A quick look shows nvidia support linux on rtx 3070 over on https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/166177/en-us and I could swap out KILLER™ Wi-Fi 6 AX165 for intel wifi6 ax200.

Im also very interested in this. If anyone can point me to any Touchpad (and kbd light) drivers for the Tongfang laptops. It all seems to work OK apart from these drivers.

Thanks

TongFang don't have a public repository so the only place drivers are available is through the system integrator.

By systen integrator I assume you mean pcspecialist. I email them now and again, not asking for support, but asking if they are aware of any linux/ubuntu drivers for this laptop, but, all I get is "we dont support linux". Which I am aware of. So looks like ill have to go elsewhere.

I seem to recall that when I was looking at purchasing this laptop, they stated that they dont support linux etc, but to contact them in any case and they may be able to help, obviously not correct.

Thanks for you help

PCS don't make any drivers, they just supply them from the manufacturer, you can't expect them to give you drivers they don't have?

I think your expectations are a bit off.

I really don't understand what your point is here?

PCS have made it clear to you that they don't support Linux on any of their builds. That means that if you choose to run Linux on a PCS build then you're largely on your own. There is a Linux forum on here where you might get help from the community and there are doubtless other Linux sites on the web where you'll find people able and willing to help you. I don't know why you seem to think that you've been badly served by PCS?

I have stated that I am aware that pcs dont support or supply linux/ubuntu, whatever, for this machine!

All im saying is, during the purchase process, pcs said to contact them if I chose to install Linux and they may be able to offer some advice, thats all! Its not a problem!
