Looking for guidance on an affordable Gaming PC

Hi there,

I am currently an Xbox Gamer! Currently have Xbox Series X but due to shortage of games and pretty much a lot of good games being on PC, I want to switch back to PC Gaming.

I originally had a budget of 1000 EUR (I am based in Ireland) but got a bit side tracked and ended up with the following build at a cost of "€2,108.00 inc VAT and Delivery".

Can someone let me know if there IS an option in around 1K? Maybe 1->1.5K EUR?

Things I want/keep in mind: A cool case with LOTS of RGB lights ;) Make someone jaw dropped when they walk in and see it lol. The ability to play all the latest and greatest! i.e. Sons of the forest, Rust, Eve Online, Raft, Minecraft etc.

I appreciate all the help :)

Specs of current build (not sure if overkill, might be able to get price down cheaper with different spec?):

Yeah €1.5k is a decent enough budget to get something good, what monitor will you be using as the GPU is matched to the monitor

Thanks for the reply! I am actually going to be using my 70" LG TV. Around year old if anything, I use it with my Xbox, 4k etc on it. Graphics is incredible😅

Do you know the actual model number? TV's tend to be restricted to 60Hz so 60 FPS would be max which obviously isn't ideal

Damn, never knew that! TV info: LG TV UQ81006LB

Hope that helps :) Thanks again for the help!
Yeah it has a screen refresh of 60Hz mate, that's going to be the limiting factor to be honest. This is where I'd be aiming for matching that screen

Steve, what type monitor would be good then to use other than my tv? Is there a good cheapish one to go alongside the PC? :) Thanks again

To match that GPU you want a 1440p 144hz IPS panel so anything that fits that would do the job really well. Probably set you back around £250-£300 for a good one. No point in buying a high spec PC to cheap out on the monitor and not get the benefits the PC can you only display what the monitor is capable of so it's important to match them

Makes perfect sense and I agree! No point cheaping out this far in. Do you reckon I am good using my current TV then or should I buy a monitor as well?

It depends entirely on the games you're playing. I play a lot of games that are restricted to 60FPS or are games designed around 60FPS so 60Hz is fine for me. I generally play these on my big TV in the living room but for anything that I can push higher or want higher like shooters for example they are all played on my 1440p 144hz monitor. I wouldn't want to be restricted to 60FPS while playing anything in first person

It's a nuanced question for sure but there is definitely a massive improvement in higher frames and 144hz seems to be that sweet spot where everything just feels better

I see, yeah for rust maybe more the better but for like Sons of the forest? Would that be good on my TV? 🤔 Might need to invest on a monitor then as well! Appreciate all this help, really do! :)
