-My budget is around £1000 (can be increased slightly if needed).
-The monitor I will be using is a MSI optix G241 23.8”
-Will be used for gaming and general use.

I would like something that has the room for upgrades in the future

With Ryzen you're going to want the fastest RAM possible I wouldn't go less than 3200Mhz to be honest. 2400Mhz wont cut it and will just hinder the processor

Other than that as a base budget machine I'd say it's not so bad for 1080p

I will say though that the standard thermal paste for the cpu is more than ok for the job, you don't need to spend an extra £9 there

Build looks pretty good.
If you can stretch the budget a bit I would upgrade CPU to 5600x, RAM to 3600mhz, PSU to 850W Rm model.
This will give you a better foundation to upgrade down the line, and your build should then last you 7-10 years with a couple of GPU upgrades.

I'd echo Mr Wilson if you have a few £ to spare it would definitely be worth bumping the PSU, RAM & CPU for longevity.

It'll let you throw a much better GPU in there when the prices settle down

Thank you all for replies really helpful, I’m new to this, I have done a little research on the internet but don’t know much.

Just wondering, would it be beneficial to change the RAM on the configuration above to 3600mhz if I could increase my budget to accommodate?

Honestly I'm seeing a lot of people running into quirks and issues with 3600Mhz ram that unless your ready and willing to maybe do some trouble shooting I wouldn't bother.

Personally I'd stick with 3200Mhz and bank on it giving me less headaches for marginal FPS loss

I’ve increased my budget after thinking about it for a few days, I’ve chose a better gpu as I don’t mind waiting. Would anyone recommend any other changes?
