Looking to upgrade monitors, 1440 or 4K - Dual or single monitors

I plan to upgrade my PCS system with a new graphics card, and monitors.

The best card I can get for my 750W power supply is a RTX 3070 Ti.

I currently have two 24” 1080p monitors, a couple of Hanns G screens.

I play mostly FPS, Doom, Crysis, Fallout etc. Not sure if 1440 is a better sweet spot then 4K?

I’m in a bit of a quandary as I’m not sure which way to jump, 1440 or 4K. I had thought of a pair of 27” monitors or go for a single 34” wide screen monitor.

I plan to upgrade the monitors first, then go for a better card once the prices come down a bit. The total budget for the monitors is £600-800. Maybe some deals on Black Friday or XMAS.

The other potential problem I have is, I also use the monitors for my work Dell 5420 laptop, it’s got an integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics card.

I spend most of my time WFH nowadays so I’m not sure how it will look on a 1440 or 4K display :(
