Looking to upgrade RAM and get the right sort

I purchased a PC Specialist back in 2015 and it's still going strong, I'm looking to upgrade my RAM however as I only have 8GB, the original spec was one stick of 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X FURY DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz , I'm searching for an equivalent online and I cannot find any that specify a dual channel, do they no longer mention this now and if so, would this be suitable to add to my exisiting 8gb RAM? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J8E90NW/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza it looks the same but I know these things are not always the case! Any help gratefully appreciated.

If you install CPU-z from here:

Go to the SPD tab and that should give you the exact model number of the DIMMS you've currently got.

Then you can search for that in Amazon or google and you should get exact results.

Thanks for such a quick response! I've done so and am assuming that it is the part number I am looking at? If it is, when searching for it, I don't seem to be getting any results :( - does this mean it is no longer being sold?

You could buy an 8gb stick: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-HX316C10FR-FURY-Memory-Module/dp/B00J8E90NW (red) and it will probably work with your existing stick.

If it doesn't, you could return it and buy a 2 x 8gb set and try to ebay your RAM to get some of the money back.

There's a customer review that says their RAM had that part number, and it's certainly the same series. But there's no absolute guarantee that another stick from a non-matched kit will work. And for all I know they changed something in the manufacturing in the last 5 years too...

I'd probably try the extra 1 x 8gb route before buying another whole kit though as it's only £30. Which is a reasonable sum to invest in an old system. Having to spend £70 on RAM you can't move to your next system (DDR3 going EOL) would be a shame.
