M2A vs M2P

I have a new desktop (from pcspecialist) with a Gigabyte B560M DS3H. I have an M2 SSD from my old computer that I was going to bring across but this motherboard has 2 M2 slots once marked M2P_CPU and the other M2A_SB. They must have different purposes but I can't find any information online.

Could some kind person please explain the difference?

Many thanks

The M2P_CPU slot should be PCIe Gen 4 Type 22110 (as long as your CPU supports Gen 4), the M2A_SB will be PCIe Gen 3 Type 2280.

Thank you, Alltruism. That is useful information. The one piece of information that still eludes me is whether they have a different purpose or whether they will both appear as hard drives on the computer.

They will both appear as drives as that is what they are, generally the faster drive is your system drive and the slightly slower one you'll use for storing games on
