Major Performance loss

The Intel's actually idle very low IME. My 6700k idles around 30-35°C. It'll be room temperature after a cold boot. When I see 50... I re-paste.

I know that the AMD chips tend to idle a bit differently as I think they simply use more power at idle.

I don't have first hand experience of the 10875H though so I could be off. I would just be surprised.

Have you updated the drivers recently? Also, it's best to be sure that your games are actually using your dedicated GPU. If your laptop has both intel and Nvidia graphics, it might be worth looking into the Nvidia Control Panel and checking that games are using the RTX 2070 GPU. It's also worth checking "Prefer Maximum Performance" in power management mode in the control panel.

Additionally, does the low FPS happen on every game you're playing? I read about Outrider's being poorly optimised at launch with many users having low FPS, needing to use this "-force -dx12" as a launch option.

Lastly, as others have already mentioned, it might even be a case of just requiring the usual maintenance for a laptop (cleaning out the fans, replacing the thermal paste, making sure the heatsink has good contact with the CPU/GPU).

Yeah my drivers are up to date as far as I’m aware & I’ve checked all my settings & they seem to be fine with maximum performance selected.

It’s also all games like Escape from Tarkov, space engineers, Transport Fever & so on.

Yeah so I’m going to get some Grizzly thermal paste & just paste it again & if it persists then I will look into the fans that might be the issue but I have spoken with tech support & they said if I was to send it into them it would take 4-5 weeks understandable with what’s going on but if it isn’t going to void anything with the laptop I will paste my self & go from there.

You can repaste, and it wont do anything to your warranty as long as you take care with what you are doing so you dont damage anything.
I am a little surprised the paste job didnt make it to a year, both laptops ive had off PCS in the past were well past that before I started to see creeping temps, but paste jobs are a bit of a lottery...

Oh great, I am as well a but everything else is perfect with it so I’m not upset about it these things happen I’ll just repaste it & hopefully it will be okay from there.

Paste jobs are a real shot in the dark... cant really blame anyone for it to be fair unless you pull it open to find barely any paste was used at all...

It might not be the reason, but its one of the usual suspects for temps starting to rise for no reason over time, and as Scott said, throttling then starts to happen if the temps are high. It would make a lot of sense that it could be...

If youve pasted CPU's before, im sure you know all this anyway. If not i'd watch a few videos to get a feel for it and be prepared to have to redo it a couple of times if you have bad luck.

So I am still experiencing all the issues even after doing the paste again on the CPU & GPU & have recently seen my CPU hit 97°C so I contacted PCSPECIALIST tech support & they would like it back to run some tests to try & find the issue, i would like to do that just my only issue is the lead time 4 - 5 weeks, but that cannot be helped due to current situations & I do not blame anyone it is what it is, but I feel like something is obviously not working correctly & I looked at the fans & they seem to be fine no issues at all run on fan boost both feel exactly the same & strong, so I might be wrong as I have only been on a pc coming up to a year soon but I have a feeling it’s the cpu that is the issue somewhere & that is soldered to the motherboard so if that is the issue obviously that’s going to be replaced, so I apologise but long story short I don’t know if I should hold off on sending it in a try play shorter & not so heavy games & upgrade to a desktop soon or actually send it in for them to take a look at it. Any information on how the repairs go or anything to do with this type of situation will be greatly appreciated. My pc still has warranty on it..
