Making order - does it look ok?

Hi all,

So I'm finally taking the plunge and ordering my first gaming comp. I have a bit of a fixed budget and my spec below is basically the exact one from the guide that was on the forums for an entry level gaming pc which I believe suits my needs just fine. this will be solely for gaming.

The only change I have made is the CPU, as the one in the original spec is out of stock and is going to be until mid December. Is this a wise choice or is it recommended to just wait? as I don't want to spend more on a part if I'm not going to get any use out of it I guess.

If you could also give guidance on the monitor ill be pairing with it please?

I would have gone for the 1650 Super as well, but it's out of stock. I did bump up to the 512Gb SSD though.

It’s a decent entry level system, albeit limited in its upgradability. It’ll pair up fine with the monitor you linked as it’s 1080p, but the 1650 Super won’t be able to push the frame limit much, you’re probably looking at around 60 frames per second with the right settings 👍

Hiya. Yeah, you'd be be able to run it with decent settings. Your frame rate might take a little bit of a hit depending on the size of the battle but it'll be perfectly playable

Iv just gone to order my monitor that I posted above but they've now all seemed to have sold out... typical.

Based of the thread on this page with regards to monitors I have found this which looks like it could be a suitable comparison? would you mind just taking a look when you get a moment. Thank you again.

Just be aware that the bigger the screen at 1080p, the grainier it will tend to look due to the pixel spacing.

Can you elaborate a little on what you mean by 'looking grim'? I'm looking at monitors myself so just trying to get to grips with them all...

It just won't be as sharp. You can use scaling to improve the image but 1080p looks better on a 1080p monitor than playing at 1080p on a 1440p monitor. The native resolution will always be more visually appealing.

I note that the above are FreeSync monitors, I was operating on the impression that G-SYNC would be needed for an nVidia card? However I also now see that nVidia added support for FreeSync last year, so is that irrelevant now?

And am I right in understanding that I would need to use Display Port (rather than HDMI) for this?

Exactly! When you're ready to make the move to 1440p/4K, you get the new monitor and GPU to pair it with. This is also why we recommend going over what the configurator recommends for your power supply unit. It gives you that headroom you'll need.

Yes thanks again - iv taken a bit of a gamble and gone for the 27" that you have put above - im coming from console gaming so my hope is that although the screen is slightly bigger than maybe the recommended 24" - it will still be better than what I am used to!
