Making your own distilled water for watercooling . Viable option - video

You might or might not be aware my computer is watercooled and I also get up to lots of modding and answering questions which I cannot find the answer too. On such a note if anyone does have any questions I could find an answer too or make a youtube video from on the cheap or at your expense give me a shout. On this quest however I have set out to answer the follwing questions.

1. Is the De-Ionised water I purchase from Halfords good quality non-conductive water?

2. Can I distil my own water efficiently?

3. Can I distil good quality water?

4. Can I effectively test the water conductivity?

5. It is all worthwhile for the costs and time involved? Is the water I produce better for the effort involved?

Also on a final big finale note. If I pour the best water I can get my hands on at a reasonable cost (or donated by someone) over a working, plugged in computer will it still work or is that enough to destroy it even with the best water / liquid available. I would also like to point out that no water is perfect. You cannot get 100% non-conductive water. What I want is the next best thing.

I have done another video with the distillation technique perfected

And the results of the testing here. You might be surprised. Also if anyone wants me to test some of their water cooling liquid give me a shout. No charge, Just interested. Also if anyone has some left over liquid they would donate to be tested that would be great. Then I can compare the actual resistance value with that of the advertised value.

Cheers, made for interesting reading.

All water is conductive, to what extent well time will tell. The normal I have been told is replace the water in the loop every 6 months. I will be replacing the water in my loop soon, in a week or so and will test it then. Should be interesting.

You might be interested in http://martinsliquidlab.org/2012/03/22/distilled-water-shootout-water-purity/4/ where he tests the conductivity various different types of water. It doesn't specifically include deionised water, but deinoised water in practice is pretty much the same as the distilled waters.

The main thing to bear in mind is that even the most pure distilled water will become conductive very quickly when being used in a water cooling loop.

I checked my water after 21 days in my system. Here is the vid with the results of the quality of the water after that time.
