Microsoft Surface - Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse

Hello,

Recently bought a PCSPECIALIST machine (Vortex) and I want to be able to use my wireless keyboard and mouse. I noticed that the keyboard disconnections after a period of time and I therefore need to use the on-screen keyboard to log into my account.

I noticed that if I go to Bluetooth & other devices, the keyboard magically connects but I don't want to keep doing this each time I use the computer. I will be getting a wired gaming keyboard and mouse but in the meantime, I would like my keyboard and mouse without having to keep doing this. It's as if "something" goes to sleep but livens up when I look at the list of paired devices.

Can anybody shed light on this? This sometimes happens with my mouse too, but mostly the keyboard.

Thanks!

If you go into device manager and find the Bluetooth controller, you just need to disable the “turn this device off to save power” option.

Sorry to come back to this post. I did as you suggested but the issue has kept reoccurring. I have turned off every single Bluetooth related device that I could. Any issues as to why this is still happening?

Are you using the dongle or just connecting to the BT already in the computer?

Have you tried new batteries?

I've changed the batteries to see if this has any impact and sadly still encountering the same issue.

What's weird is that if the keyboard is not activating, if I click on Start > Devices and click on the Keyboard device, it changes from "Paired" to "Connected". Obviously this isn't ideal when I need to log into my PC as the keyboard is required and I'm having to use the on-screen keyboard to enter my password.

I'm using the built in BT adapter rather than a dongle. Don't want to use a dongle as this takes up and extra USB slot.

I kept getting this with my xBox controller for some unknown reason and occassionally with my MX200 mouse - I reverted to using the dongle rather than the in built BT for the mouse and reverted to wiring my xBox controller to the laptop in the end.

You need to find the Bluetooth adapter in device manager and do the same thing, stop it from turning the device off to save power
