Mid to High End PC Spec help

Hello everyone I am pretty much a noob when it comes to PCs but have decided to make the plunge. I am looking for something mid to high tier that I don’t necessarily need to upgrade for a while. I am looking to play high FPS shooters like Call of duty and stream. I also need to be able to video edit at 4K so looking for something that is an all rounder.

I have a budget of 4K to 4.3K but I’m unsure if this is overkill. I also don’t know whether it’s worth going for 64gb 3200mhz ram or stick with 32gb 3600mhz for performance. The Monitors I will be using will be a BenQ XL2546 and Alienware AW2521HFLA (or a AW2521H)

Yowzer! You've got yourself a healthy budget there, but I'm not sure you need to use all of it to get a pretty epic machine. I think the CPU and GPU may well be overkill so I've done an alternate spec that I think would do you just fine and save you some cash. Also optimised the storage and case so you've got a monster machine...

Thanks for the help, even with such a spec do you think I would be able to hit a high enough frame rate for any FPS shooters? I wanted to push my build to around 240 FPS, also how much benefit would I get in terms of my rendering times if I increase my ram further? The budget is pretty decent but I just wanted to go all out I guess and I have been working pretty hard with COVID around

You shouldn’t need more than 32GB of fast RAM. If you’re doing lots and lots of large, complex rendering then you may get the benefit of the 5950X and the VRAM of the 3090. You will need to ensure you’ve got the Crosshair Hero motherboard if you go down that route.

Both the 3080 and the 3090 will push high frame rates on your monitor for gaming, the real debate is if you’d actually be able to tell the difference once it starts hitting anything above 120FPS. Most of the human race are unable to distinguish when it gets to that level.

So if we revisit that spec again with a couple of tweaks we end up with...

Hey could anyone help me with this spec, I’ve had to cut down my original budget from 1.5k-2K. I am mainly using the pc to play FPS shooters @ 200+ FPS as well editing YouTube videos. I am using a BenQ XL2456 as my main monitor and don’t know where I can optimise my money further. I’m unsure whether a 5600 would be enough and if I do opt for 5800x whether I need a cooler?

From what I’ve read I can’t it makes a difference when playing competitively? I thought I would also get some longevity with not upgrading my GPU for quite a while or maybe I am wasting money

As @Bigfoot says, a 3080 is completely overpowered really, you'll be more than fine with a 3070.

At 1080p you'll want the 5800x CPU, cpu is more important at lower resolutions.
