Monitor suggestions

Hey guys I've been on the forums for a while but finally, with your help and tips, I've managed to place an order two days ago.

I'm undecided about ultrawide gaming monitors, last time I had to deal with choosing parts for a PC was back in 2013 and things changed a lot since then.

Was thinking maybe someone can give me a tip or two about what kind of monitor my rig can handle, I'm looking for something ultrawide 32-34 inches max 35, can be slightly curved but not crazy extreme.

Max budget 600 can push a little bit more if it's worth it.

Do you guys think my rig can do 4k 144hz, if those type of monitors even exist? but I can settle for 2k 144hz+ and preferably 1ms response time.

I've seen the samsung odyssey 32 inch but was thinking maybe theres something slightly bigger that offers the same quality.

Also u guys reckon 750w is enough for this build or should i go for 850w XD

Many many thanks,

Yes, it could handle 4k but 1440p Ultrawide would be better. I am not an expert when it comes to Ultrawides so ther probably are better but something like this:

BenQ Ultrawide
For the 2080ti, you're really looking at Superwides, although budget is a factor as they're more in the 1k region.

If budget is strict at £600 then Ultrawide is definitely a better option than 4k (even 144Hz).

Really for the 2080ti, you need to be looking at a panel budget of around £1k

Thanks guise, I've had a look and im still undecided.

Actually the more I look into it the more confused I turn to be

Should I go for a g9 odyssey or go for this 38 inch LG38GL950G-B i think 38 inch is in the sweet spot for gaming and enjoying views, https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/compu...ps-lcd-gaming-monitor-black-10203959-pdt.html

I think 49 inches is a bit too wide for gaming, I think I'd be more comfy at 38-42.

Would you guys know any better options for that kind of budget of around 1.2k ? I mean, gosh, the prices on gaming monitors nowadays are crazy lol, but if we went this far with the rig its best if we go full ham lol, wife might kill me but at least it was worth it lol...

Many thanks

The LG is an Ultrawide which is essentially 1.5 x 1440p across.

The G9 is a Superwide which is 2 x 1440p across.... far bigger screen realestate.

An ultrawide is really too little for the 2080ti, it's wasting the card really. You need to be looking at Superwides or 4k 144Hz.

Cheers man for always pointing me in the right direction, ill try to seek some 4k 144hz.

In regards to the superwide ones, im not entirely sure if i understand how they differ from ultrawide xD

Thanks again my dude

Superwide is 2 x 1440p screens across and 1 up so in pixels it's 5120 x 1440

Ultrawide is 1.5 x 1440p screens across and 1 up, so in pixels it's 3440 x 1440

Superwide is far more immersive for gaming than 4k 144hz.

Thanks bro, aside from g9 would your expertise in monitors recommend anything else in particular ? I cant seem to see anything else 1440p superwide, not sure if im looking in the right places 🤔

Many thanks
