**Mostly Not Solved** :-( 4fps

Firstly. I love my build. Thank you PCS!

Just a couple of questions.

1. Noise. This is a biggie. As my build along with the odd bit of gaming, is used for studying (word / excel / browser / youtube)
When doing this 'kinda stuff' I was hopeful my build would be silent, much like my surface book - only when I would be doing something like gaming, or actually the home gets warm, the build would be need the fans to run 'loudly'

From a very simple test of downloading a DB reader on my phone, it appears the noise is coming from the NZXT (H511) case fans.....

Question. What are my options? Can I set them up simply to only come on when required (certain temp?) Or should I simply purchase some 'ultra quiet fans' ?

2. RGB PROBLEM. SOLVED THANK YOU MODS

3. Gaming performance. Seeing massive drops within the first few minutes of gaming. DIRT 4 / Metro Last Light / Gears 5. One second 60fps, next 4fps? Doesn't matter if its loaded from steam or geforce. Then PC becomes very slow :-(

4. And annoying as....why does the power button flash all the time!

Will do. And just quick

Just been 'trying' to play DIRT 4 / Metro Last Light. Doesn't matter whether I boot up from Steam or Geforece. 60fps one minute, drops to 4fps?! Not sure what is happening there :-(

Have updated windows and the GPU drivers in GeForce

So good news, the case fans are PWM fans which means you can control the speeds.

You'll need to install AI Suite from the driver downloads HERE in the software and utility section, that should give you fan controls.

Which model of 3070 do you have? If you're unsure from looking you can install GPU-z which will tell you the exact model:

Cheers - I assume its the fans. As the difference between standard and silent is zero! Still noisy :-(

2. Snapshot of temps during first two minutes of Metro before it goes crazy and drops to 4 fps

Just double check the fan cables and make sure they're plugged into the fan headers on the motherboard.

Cheers, I'll 'try and take the back off the case tomorrow' but looking at the motherboard, it appears they are?

The CPU cooler is attached the top - and looking at the fan profile for the GPU, it doesn't come on until something like 50c and if using word.doc I'd hope it isn't needed haha :)

So. 'Try again'

Loaded up Mad Max
About a 'minute in-game'

Goes from 60fps to 4fps. and for good measure. Blue Screen of death, not the first - Considering it only arrived on Friday, nothing but problems. PC Gaming....4 days in. Is a bit...

And that power button light keeps flashing. And its noisy. Anyone want a PC :-(

It's likely just a configuration issue, a custom build is nothing like an off the shelf, you have to know how to manage windows and drivers.

What was the BSOD code?

The blinking light is the drive activity light, it's standard on most cases.

When you first got the PC did you run Windows Update repeatedly until no more updates were found? If not, please do that now.

Hi, yes. As per one of the posts. Its the first thing I did, and do go into updates a few times a day, both in windows and GeForce

All the BSOD I've had - Saying that when gaming and it goes from 60fps to 3fps - I don't always get the BSOD code.

0x00000154 (0xffff970c25c05000, 0xffffaf8a8e475170, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000)

Two things:

Thing 1. Can you upload the dump itself please? If there's a kernel dump - C:\Windows\Memory.dmp - then upload that, if all you have are minidumps in C:\Windows\Minidumps then upload those. Upload them to the cloud somewhere and post a link here.

Thing 2. The 0x154 is a memory store exception, so check that all RAM sticks are properly seated (stuff does move in transit) and then download Memtest, make a bootable USB stick from the extracted tool and booty that USB stick. Allow Memtest to complete all four iterations of the various tests (that will take overnight).

The other BSODs could well be caused by flaky RAM so I really would like to see any or all of these dumps please?
