Thanks @SpyderTracks . I'll definitely stick with Windows 11 for now then.

That's fantastic info on the G9 and it helps to allay any concerns that I had. Unfortuantely, the deals on it at the minute don't seem to be what they were back in December. So much for the good old days of the January sales!
I know, it's a really weird year this year, the deals totally ended in December, and stocks ran pretty dry. No Jan sales to be seen anywhere.

I notice Samsung have reduced the full price to 1149 from 1295 which it was at Christmas (full price), but yeah, the deals just aren't there at the minute.

Best deal I've seen currently is from Laptops Direct at £999 with free shipping. BUT it is the older model LC49G93TSSUXEN and I have no idea what Laptop Directs return policy is like.

Just for info, the TSSR at the end of the model number is a refreshed model with far lower power consumption (55W vs 100W of the old TSSU units listed here). I'm fairly certain that this lower wattage is what avoids the nasty cracking sound that other users have reported.

Personally, I would advise waiting specifically for the G95TSSR model I've got as I do think it's physically improved. That may well be why the model above is reduced vs the new model.

So this is the final build I'm going to submit to PCS. Just the one change - upgrading the second M2 to the FireCuda 530.

Thanks everyone for all of your help. I'm sure it's been said on many occasions, but you guys do a fantastic job in volunteering your time and experience to help people get the best build for their money (even when they don't always listen!) and it's really appreciated!

I'll be sure to post up some photos once it arrives. Getting excited now :)

Extraordinary build! Very jealous.

It's worth noting that I would expect PCS to put Windows on the fastest drive, which is to say the Firecuda 530. (A bigger SSD will be faster, all other things being equal.) So, presuming you want Windows on the 980, I'd message PCS and ask them to make sure it goes on the 500GB drive, as that makes most sense.

Coming in late but also remember than the PCS configurator hasn't yet adjusted to the fact that the new Z690 type motherboards have 4 PCIe4 M2 slots. PCS only allow you to configure just two (come on PCS get with the party!)

So don't feel you have to buy a 2TB Firecuda 530 to maximize utilization of the second slot or that you need to buy a 2TB HDD to give yourself some extra storage space (nothing wrong with those choices). You still will have 2 M2 PCIe4 drives spare to fit yourself and it's very easy on these boards to fit them.
