My Desktop PC Quote

At the moment I'm saving up to invest in a new gaming orientated desktop PC. I have a budget of £1800 (hopefully if I don't spend it beforehand). I need to buy a cheep screen and a keyboard, because I have headsets and a mouse. Also I have to connect it to the internet via wifi as I don't have ethernet cables in my house.

Cheap screen with the gtx 780 ti? Seems like a waste. For gaming you don't need an i7 or overclocking, 8gb ram is plenty for gaming and a cheaper motherboard will do the job.

Right ok, so I could reduce the cost getting a cheeper processor and less ram. I suppose I could put that part of the budget into a better screen…?

I certainly concur about the RAM. If you ever found you were using all of 8GB, and I think for a few years at least you won't for games, then you can just buy more RAM. It's very easy to fit.

Personally I prefer playing action games with a gamepad (I use a PS3 controller). The strategy game I'm currently playing that requires a keyboard, I can't imagine would benefit from anything better than the £30ish keyboard I use. If I was playing a multi-player game that required use of the keyboard, I would not be thinking I was losing because my keys were not actuating as fast as other people's.
Ideally you would try keyboards before you decided what suited you best.
