Hi there, currently AMD is smashing Intel out the park so I'd highly suggest changing an AMD build. Also knowing the exact monitors you use (either make and model or resolution AND refresh rate) would be very helpful to the build. You say it's for school work, are there any particular apps you need to run for that? Or is it just more of a general productivity build. Budget wise, do you need anything in that £1000 budget other than the tower? Monitors, keyboards, mice? There's definitetly improvments we could make for you!

A thread I'd recommend a read of: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...posting-collaboration-of-helpful-hints.77691/

Hey thanks for the reply, the main monitor is samsung u28e850r and the 2 secondary monitors are Asus kg271 bmiix.
It's main purpose is for movies as well as college work so it would be a mix of apps.
Budget wise I have everything else as mouse keyboard monitors speakers all that.

This build slighltly exceedes your budget but I feel it's worth it. If you don't plan to 4K game this should be adequate.

I've changed to Ryzen as suggested above.
I also upgraded to 16gb of ram as AMD loves fast ram and there isn't an 8gb kit available at 3200 speed.
The graphics card should be fine for your uses although I'm not 100% so an opinion from another member would be great.
Your storage was quite limited previously so I've upgraded it to a 1TB M.2 SSD which should launch into windows and load apps and files super quickly
It's worth spending the extra on a good PSU now as it'll run more comfortably in your system and leaves lots of room for upgrades should you choose to do any down the line.
To cut cost I've also removed the copy of Windows from the build as you will be able to port your key over from your old laptop which will save a chunk of money (luckily this is the easiest it's ever been, video about how to here). If you require a new window's key this budget will be very tight.
And the silver warranty is worth it for a fiver

Thats a great help thank you! If I was to add the copy of Windows which part would be the best to downgrade on? As in is there one part that would be less important then the other?

Also sorry I should have added, i am basing my budget off €1000 not £1000 so that is slightly out of budget. If its an impossible task to create such a build quality with a low budget I can continue saving to hopefully increase the budget 😅

Honestly, I'd hightly recommend this. With the pandemic, demand is high and supply is low so prices are super expensive as of now. If you're able to save for a few months to increase your budget and let prices fall (hopefully) you'll get a lot more for your money. I wouldn't want to recommend you a PC that wouldn't be up to the task and the budget we're trying to fit, I feel that may be the case.

You make no mention of gaming so I assume that's not something you will be using it for? If that is the case, then you can lower the GPU quite significantly as you just need something that has 4k support and the ability to run 3 monitors.

I have reconfigured the spec to be as low as possible while still having decent performance...ideally there'd be a better CPU in there. Have selected ROI as a delivery destination...you were talking about Euros so assumed somewhere non-UK. Obviously it can be changed if you are elsewhere:
