Let me know what you think about it please. Thank you.

some admin stuff for business but mainly gaming.. my monitor is not the best.. hp make, 23.8'' 1080p, 1920 x 1080. all in all I just wanted a decent pc that I know for a while won't have issues with it.. how long you think it will last me? 5-6 years at least before i need to upgrade anything?

It would really depend on what you will be using the system for? Also what monitor do you have (Mhz and refresh rate or make and model if unknown)...especially important if gaming as pointless having a 1440 system on a 1080 monitor. Also, what is your maximum budget as the build price hasn't been copied so no idea how much it is.

However, a couple of quick things: You can remove the Artic thermal paste....the paste that comes with the cooler is excellent. I would also consider getting a Gen 4 hard drive (way above an SSD) or at least an M2 drive....both are much faster than even an SSD

Thanks for your suggestions. The build cost £1640.

So I will take your suggestions in place and will remove the artic paste. For an M2 drive it has to wait as I saw it's quite expensive, I will buy that separately on the way in a couple weeks and will add it myself. But for everything else you think all that is perfect? Needed for all the Extra Case Fans? So I can Amend my order before it's too late.

It’s not suitable for a 1080p system, we’d need to adjust some things.

For a 1080p monitor you are way over-shooting. It's a waste of cash. Even if you decide to upgrade the monitor in a year or 2, put the savings here towards a new GPU at the same time. You'll get something FAR more powerful than you can right now. Get the system that matches what you want now...... sort down the line when you get there...

Just to add, the above that I've suggested is overspecced too. I've gone for silent yet powerful with a pretty look to it.

You only need to drop in a 2080Ti to have one of the most powerful gaming systems on the planet. Everything else completely supports anything you would want to do with the system. It will also support the next gen of AMD.

Thanks for that guys. I will amend my order with the drives now and remove arctic paste. However is not much of a difference changing the GPU to the one you suggested.

Do you think the current build will affect it in a bad way or why you say over shooting? The monitor would be a matter of less than a few months. Can you suggest me what monitor I would need for this build please? Thank you, so I can see the budget exactly.

@Scott build is worth buying, the other one isn't, just wouldn't be used.

When you do come to updating the monitor, then buy a new GPU then as the new GPU's will have been released, hoping that Corona has died down a bit, otherwise who knows.

As above, don't buy a GPU now planning for the future...... get what you need now as the GPUs change constantly. You will get a FAR better GPU in a few months time for the same money.

Always, always, makes more sense to hold off on the GPU while making sure the rest of the system is up to snuff for the foreseeable. The system recommended absolutely covers everything you could possibly throw at it right now and when the time comes you will be able to decide between 1440p, 1440p Superwide or even 4k. Purchase a GPU and monitor paired at the same time.

The monitor is going to be soon, just waiting maybe some of you will recommend me a decent monitor at a decent budget so I can look into it.

With the GPU I don't really want to change it and then have to buy new one in a months time, I was thinking to keep the 5700 XT one for a good few years isn't it? Or what do you suggest? Buy a cheaper GPU now and then upgrade the GPU when I buy the monitor? Will that not be a waste? As what I'll be doing with the GPU that I buy now as the monitor I will buy in a months time I think.

Also can I add in time the M.2 SSD Drive rather then now, as I want to go for the Gen 4 one but limited on budget so I'd rather wait.? And just keep my 1 TB SSD only? Can that be done?

Also on the Memory RAM, should I keep the 3000Mhz or go for 320Mhz?

With everything you have said considered, I wouldn't build a system at all right now.

Buying a system now, to facilitate choices for a months time are silly..... considering the next gen GPU offerings are out in a month or 2.
The 5700XT is a decent GPU, fairly powerful.... but it's going to pale in comparison very soon. Especially at the price and power point.

You can add whatever you like really, PCS are quite good with their warranty etc. The suggested build is very lavish, there are LOADS of options to save money without impacting performance. This is why offering us a realistic budget and usage is imperative. You give me a number.... I'll build the best system I can without trying to be wasteful.

With RAM.... the faster the better. AMD loves frequency. 3600 would be my default choice now where 16GB is concerned.

Well budget for PC would be around £1600.

£1500+ is a high end 1440p gaming rig every day of the week. The extra £100 gets you the lavish options that I've selected in the build above.

The trouble is..... you're not going to make use of it at the moment and the circa £3-400 GPU is going to be shamed before mid-year.

The 2 feasible options as I see them are:

Purchase a system right now that's nicely paired with your monitor but has every single box ticked for a monster build at any given point (see my advised spec). Enjoy it for 6-months to a year and then take the circa £200 savings and put them towards the next gen 1440p GPU and pair it with a suitable screen. All the saving done between now and then will allow you to buy a perfect pairing. You will want to save around £300-500 for the monitor and probably spend the same on the GPU.

Don't buy anything until June. That way you can save the extra funds required to purchase the monitor and a nicely paired system at exactly the same time with the new GPU offerings on the table. Forget about upgrading anything for a good few years.

Can you recommend me a good monitor 1440p? At a decent budget that I can keep it for a good few years. Not to fussy about monitors really. Also instead of the 5700 XT what should I put in the build above on first post? I would keep everything else same, except to downgrade the GPU as you said for now until the new one comes out.

I'll also upgrade the RAM to the 3200Mhz

If it's for 1440p the 5700 XT fits quite well. The difficulty is knowing that a more powerful and cheaper GPU is coming out just around the corner.

The 2060 Super is the go-to for 1440p, the 2070 Super would be high end 1440p and the 2080 Super would be the highest end Superwide.... getting into 4k.

The XT fits between the 2060 and the 2070 but it's priced to compete.

For monitors I would check out this thread......

The ones in green been updated. So I was thinking to go for the lower end GPU for the mean time and wait for the new one to come out and maybe upgrade to that one around end of year or so, and around that time I will get the new 1440p monitor as well. So I will upgrade the GPU and Monitor in same time together. Would this be like a good plan? This way I just saved around £350 on this build for now. Also removed the Arctic Paste and left the Standard one instead. And upgraded the RAM to 3200 MHZ. I will also add another 16 GB of RAM when I will get the new GPU with the Monitor at end of year.

Will everything else is fine now? Enough fans, processor cooling is good, the motherboard good for now and for the upcoming upgrade with new GPU etc ? :) please let me know if I did the right choice.

All looks excellent.

You won't need another 16GB of RAM, that's plenty.
The GPU isn't going to be particularly good for gaming but it will at least keep you going until you get yourself sorted out.
The cooler is a bit of overkill. It's silent though so may be worthwhile to you. Any 240mm cooler is going to have you covered (the Coolermaster for example).

Great stuff, so everything should be fine then. All I need now would be the new GPU that's coming soon plus the monitor and I'm sorted.

I hope I'll be sorted for at least of 3 years or more without having to change much of it, don't you think?

Also this is my current PC, what you suggest I shall do with it, it's around 2 years old

Better to try sell it on eBay or Facebook marketplace better sell it parts by parts? Or what else should I do with it? The money from it would help towards the new GPU :D Thanks.

It's not something we can advise on on the forum, best see on ebay and other marketplaces what others are going for.

Second hand computer equipment really doesn't hold it's value, especially with all the security issues now on intel.

Begs the question though, why on earth are you selling it? Doesn't make any sense?

What is the spec? I would ditch the windows from the new build for a start as you can transfer the license and use the £100 towards the monitor/gpu :)

Actually wondering why you don't just upgrade it to see you through till you fancy a new monitor and can just splurge the whole lot in one go. Also makes selling on easier too as you could sell the monitor etc along with it.
