Hey everyone,

I need some advices about my config. Do you think it's the best config for the price ? I didn't want to pay more than 4000 EUR. I got a question about the possibility to put 2 more ARGB fans on the top. Is it possible to do it and control the color of all of fans with the motherboard ? Open for all advices ! You can have an incredible system with that kind of budget but it could do with a bit of optimisation. The CPU you’ve chosen is meant for a high end workstation and for gaming will actually be outperformed by its twelve core little brother. The cooler you’ve picked would also struggle to cope with the kind of heat it would generate, leading to some serious thermal throttling.

But fear not, the forum is here to lend a hand and we can help you get a dream machine. Thanks for providing us with a budget to work with, can you also let us know what monitor you’ll be using, make and model or resolution and refresh rate? If you haven’t got a monitor, is there a separate budget for that? And are there any other system uses than gaming? Streaming, video editing etc?

Let us know and our experienced team of spec helpers will come up with the goods 🙂👍

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is better for gaming ? And for the cooler, I chose this one because it has only one fan and it would let me 2 more places in the case to put the 2 fans that I will buy myself later on the top. I would like to have a this computer case with the 3 front ARGB fans and 2 more ARGB fans on the top of the case and trying to connect them with on the motherboard to controll the color on the frond AND on the top of my computer, do you have a solution for that ? For the rest, yes I would like in the future to stream and editing video, that's why I chose the most recent CPU ! For the monitors, I'll buy 2 ones myself with 144Hz ! Sorry for my english, I'm trying my best without translation tool ! :rolleyes:

The 5900x is indeed better for gaming Games atm usually follow console gaming laws :( which currently ps5 and new xbox use 8 core so 5800x is a great gaming chip for next 5 years 5900x is better you would need at least a 240mm aio cooler a one fan cooler will thermal throttle the cpu and will lead to poor performance

Should remove bullguard antivirus forgot to do that as I was going of memory of the configuator to provide you with a spec in french :)
the case you had in your orginal build was cheap and very bad for high end components

This is going of the assumption of dual 1440p 144hz monitors a 4k monitor or a 1440p ultrawide monitor

This build would be a waste for 1080p resolution

Just to note that the cooler selected by @jamiephillips909 comes with RGB fans that can be controlled using iCue. You might want to choose a Corsair case if you want the case fans to be controlled by the same software 5000D or X or 500D SE, although you won’t see much of the RGB on the cooler fans with the 500D SE.

my go to case is the

COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500M GAMING CASE​

not everyone likes it but i own one and its superb for airflow on the pricey side but its quiet but completely agree with bigfoot should select a different case if you want to see more of the rgb a oversight by me :(

I'd like to have this one, but my question is, is it possible to have thoses 2 front fans and 3 top fans with the control of the color for the config that you suggested ? Because the cooler for the CPU uses 3 fans and, I guess I won't be able to put those 2 front ARGB fans and those 3 ARGB top ? Do you have any solution for that ? I just wanna have a case where I can control the color of my front fans and top fans with the right cooler for my CPU (I don't care to have color inside the case) !

I control the top fans with icue software that comes with corsair hi series and the front 2 fans with a msi application you would use armory crate as pcs sell asus motherboards hope that helps

So do you think that my actual config is good ? And for the airflow, is it good to have 2 fans for the air inlet and 3 on top for the air outlet + the 3 fans on the case for the CPU ? Is it balanced ? Thank you for your answer !

I have the same setup the airflow is fantastic in this case I have a 5800x that runs hotter then a 5900x all temps are completely fine and good :)

my aio is top mounted so fans are from the aio cooler the picture is of a 360mm aio but mine is a 280mm same one you have in your config and its great :)

So I have the two fans included with case at front 2x 200mm my aio cooler fans at top 2x140mm and the one rear fan 1 x 140mm also included with the case so theres no need to order any extra fans :)

So your aio cooler will be top mounted so the fans attached to it will be your top fans :)
