I'm trying to research strong components for a high-end gaming PC that will last me years and I need some advice on the current parts I'm considering.
So far:
CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
GPU: Undecided. RTX 3080 if in stock else a 1080ti or such
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING ATX LGA1200 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
HDD: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P350X ATX Mid Tower Case
Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
The cooler is one of the items I'm not 100% confident on because of my lack of knowledge of hardware and PC building. I don't know if a liquid cooler is overkill, or potentially my PSU at 850W is overkill.
Could anyone comment on this build so far and give me any tips, recommendations or compatibility issues. The price I'm going for is roughly £2000 maximum altogether.
