For anything that price spending an extra fiver for the Silver Warranty is worth it, if only for peace of mind. Have never had a problem with a PCS machine but they can happen.

Am guessing gaming but any other uses, that would help with any suggestions for changes.

Do you already have this build as I don't believe they sell the recoil any more?

I believe you can amend the warranty while it's still valid, it's definitely worth upping it to at least silver as @Stephen M says, even more important on a laptop chassis.

Personally when spending nearly or over £2k on a laptop, albeit this is the DTR, I recommend the gold warranty as it’s only £69 and you get two years warranty.

Gaming laptops get hot and any slight faults or overheating issues could effect the motherboard and recently I’ve seen quotes of £800 to replace motherboard.

All depends on an individuals risk appetite though and as long as they maintain the laptop properly then hopefully won’t be an issue.
