Need a new laptop (new here)

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm trying to find the perfect gaming laptop for my needs.

First, I'm trying to decide which case I will use as I want a thin and mostly non plastic one.
When aluminium or magnesium chassis is not mentioned, does that mean it is full plastic ? For example the DEFIANCE VII.

Also I noticed that we can only pick one or two SSDs but no HDDs, is there any reason for that ?

I have a 1300-1500£ budget. I will use it mostly for 3D softwares as I work in MAYA but also playing games, eventually connected to my TV.

I would try and push the boat out slightly just to manage the below spec from a productivity point of view. Definitely worthwhile. If Y it cannot be done, and work is taking preference, drop the GPU to the 1660 Ti, which is a good 1080p Gaming card right now. The 2060 is good for gaming AND productivity. The 3700X will be a laptop productivity monster.

I don't think there are any non-plastic chassis though. You won't get a high end, thin, productivity laptop I'm afraid. You can opt for a more gaming chassis if you wish, but you want something good with cooling for productivity work. This is the trade off unfortunately.

I personally have 2 laptops (well I have about 5). One for productive work that has some juice, and another for general use at meetings etc. They are not created equal in the slightest.
