Ok, here goes. I'm currently a Dell XPS630 owner (poor me) for 2yr, it is on 24/7, never off. Last October I woke up to find my keyboard not working, then my mouse went too. Turns out my PS/2 ports had blown, how is anyones guess - my kb and mouse are USB so I knew the ports went - I prefer PS/2 as they're faster, well, to me.
I brought a PC from Cyberpower in November, but seeing as I'm physically disabled, I had to wait for someone to help me rig this system up, and today was the only day they could help.
However, we found that there can not be more than one hard drive fitted - there were only 1 black plate with a SATA cable fitted to the Thermaltake case, there are other cables in the drive bay area, but they are all scrunched up together. My sister called them today about this and explained the issue we have. But basically, someone said it was custom built, so you got what you've paid for and to go buy the cables etc myself - rude! But before I purchased, I asked if I could use the 5 extra drive bays (that the Thermaltake case supports) and my current Asus Xonar DX2 card, and I got a yes from them, thinking it would have all the cables in place and in view as standard - sadly this wasn't the case. I'm the type that likes to reuse stuff, and as they say: "If it isn't broke, reuse it", right?. I'm going to sell it as they wont help me rectify my error.
So I'm here to get advice. I use it for gaming, web design, photoshop, surfing (I run a business online from home), basically everything....
How are the PSU cables situated, and will there be the maximum SATA cables with my mobo for the case, as I have 3 drives in this Dell.
I am looking at spending £700 to £1k.. Intel i5/i7 and 6gb ram preferably.
I'm dubious who to buy from next! In case I get screwed again
TIA.
