Need advice on a new PC

I'm willing to spend around £900/£1000 on a new PC, it'll primarily be for gaming but as I'm a Uni student I'll obviously still need to be able to do work on it. I don't really know anything about specs and so forth but I was hoping for this price I'd be able to build something that could play pretty much anything to a reasonable quality. It would be great if it was able to run VR as well but that might be far too expensive for my budget, again I don't really know that much. Any guidance on specs would be greatly appreciated.

Does that budget include a monitor? If you already have one, what refresh rate and resolution is it (or make and model number if you don't know)?

Any particular work (e.g. coding?) or just the usual office stuff?

My current monitor has a refresh rate of 60hz and resolution of 1920x1080, I'd only upgrade the monitor if I needed to really. Nothing special with the work, no coding or anything just normal office stuff.
Thanks

Similar to above with a few changes......

3600 as there's no performance difference of merit between it and the 3600X. If there's a game offer and it's worth it to you then it's the only reason to consider it.

Faster RAM, better configuration (2x8).... because faster.

1660 Super is as good as the Ti (minus a frame or 2) and is considerably cheaper. The Super effectively replaced the Ti when it came out (newer tech).

SX6000 M2 as it's faster.

All in works out cheaper for no performance hit and potentially performance gain. Win win!

Just to add.... the 1660 Super is for reasonably high end 1080p Gaming. It's likely to exceed 60FPS in all situations so it may be worth either dropping to the 1660 (regular) or considering a monitor upgrade (2nd monitor is always nice).

Don't consider the 1660 Super as future proofing. You're often better saving the money and putting it toward the next generation of card when it comes out (and when you want an upgrade) rather than spending more now. Diminishing returns for the most part.
