Need help choosing a Laptop

So I'd like to get into gaming and I'm looking at the 15.6" VYPER III

Budget: £1.5k but fairly flexible on budget depending on if it's economically viable.

I like the Vyper as portability is quite important as I do a lot of work on trains etc, my current PCS model which is years old is just too bulky, and the power pack is enormous. Do the newer models come with a smaller AC adapter? My current one is like 17x4cm and its just a monster.

I have no idea when it comes to computers, so I have no idea what the difference in the RAM and SSD are. I suppose my question is.....what do the different types/sizes of RAM/SSDs do?

Please advise

I mentioned in the thread gaming and work (nothing more intense than MS Office and programming), or do you mean more specifically what games? If that's the question, I'm not actually too sure! I'd like to buy a spec that will manage games to be released in the next year or two, Crisis Remastered, Battlefield 6, the new Elder Scrolls etc. I'm also into flight sims

I haven't played any games in about 4 years which is when I bought my last laptop from PCS.

The bonus of that chassis is that it has a thunderbolt port, so once the GPU becomes too old and can't game anymore, you can run off an eGPU such as this and use any desktop card you like, extending the gaming life of the laptop exponentially:

Thank you for providing a spec.

I'm just wondering what the 2x sticks of RAM is for? As opposed to a single stick of 16gb? Also why would I need a second SSD

RAM is dual channel and runs more effectively in pairs.

You'd only need a second SSD if you needed more space.
