Need help on purchasing a PC

So I want to get a PC but I honestly don’t know what I need or what would be good. My budget isn’t the highest it’s roughly between £1000-2000. I mainly want it for gaming, which would include some big games like gta 5, Skyrim ect I’ll also want to include a lot of mods with those too.

I would very much like one with a nvidia geforce capture card because I’m very interested in gaming photography too! So if anyone could help me out with a build or something I would highly appreciate it! Thanks :)

How quickly do you want a machine. Prices are sky high because of world situation and will hopefully start dropping in a couple of months.

PCS are showed under with orders so there is a long wait anyway - they cannot work full out because of Covid-19 measures.

Regarding the gaming photography, if you have an NVIDIA GPU, then you can use something like the GeForce Experience Recording app to capture gameplay photos etc. This gives an overview of it to see if that's what you mean:

As to the system, do you already have a monitor? If so, what make and model is it? I fnot, then will it need to be included in the budget or is the budget for the tower alone?

Do you have size restrictions for either monitor tower or both? We can come up with a good 1440p system with your budget
Thank you! I don’t have a monitor and that isn’t included in the budget I’m buying that separately but if you have any advice for one that would be great. Hmm no I don’t have any size restrictions, doesn’t have to be perfect but one that would be good enough, I mean I’m currently on a laptop that isn’t that great so :)

Well I don’t mind waiting, I’ve been trying to get a PS5 with no luck since they’ve been released lol.

So, I have gone a bit over budget here...however, if the laptop is being retired, then you could transfer the Win 10 licence, install Windows yourself and save around £100 which would bring it under budget.

Normally a gaming system would be the 5600x CPU and 16GB RAM...however, I am mindful of your heavy modding needs and so have specced up accordingly. This paired with something like the Samsung Odyssey G5 monitor (around £300) would give you an excellent 1440p experience:

I'm aware you're already over slightly but just thought I'd note that the 1TB Hard drive can be changed to 2TB for only £11 which could save you from needing to upgrade in the future. This also comes with a way larger cache (which deals with tiny processes in the background). Otherwise that's the only change I'd suggest from @Nursemorph 's great build
