(May get a better monitor if suggested)

Mostly would use the PC for gaming and photoshop and the possibility to be used as a streaming PC - I do have a Valve Index.
Budget is around £1000 but can push to £2500 if required.
Put a build together but any advice on what to replace with a cheaper version/whatever is unnecessary would be appreciated.

Mate for £2500 you can get an all singing all dancing as long as you don't go DDR5 which just isn't worth the cost for the performance benefit

This is what I would want for your uses and this would be the high end of the high end for your requirements. Would also be excellent for the Index. You absolutely should invest in better monitors too though

The 3080 is sweet for the Index, I'd have one in a heartbeat, but the 3070Ti covers you very nicely too. If you need to free up some budget I would opt for the 3070Ti in favour of a good 1440p 144hz monitor (ITRO £300) :)

It's the sensible balance as otherwise the 3080 would warrant a 4k monitor at £600

Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely look at trying to get that although it is towards the high end of my budget. Is there possibility for replacements to bring the price down a bit? If not that's fine - I've got a few months before I would want to get it.

Had a post a while ago asking for advice on a build but have had to reduce the budget.
PC would be used for gaming, VR and photoshop/Graphic design. Wanting good performance and high quality graphics for both gaming and general use.
Budget is around £1000 - £1500 but can push to £2000 if there is any upgrades that are important/necessary.
Might increase storage a bit but unsure whether to get a second SSD/HDD or increase the storage of ones already selected.

We love you Ukraine
There's a whole host of new hardware being released on pre order on Thursday and you'll get significantly more power for the money then, I'd hold off a few days.

Has the new hardware been posted? Been trying to find stuff about it but can't see anything.

Price just rocketed on the quote I last posted, £1515 incl. Tax to £1913.... Have they even added new stuff or just boosted the price of it all?

I've just been reading posts about the new hardware release.
Apparently PCS was being a bit optimistic when they said "preorders from the 18th".
I believe we're now looking at the 27th. That's when the new motherboards come on stream, as well as the new AMD CPUs. 27th has always been the release date. I think they were hoping to get pricing information today, in order to get preorders in, so that they would then put in orders for the new hardware. Have everything else to hand, so that when the new release stuff is also in their hands .....
Rather disappointing tbh. I've been waiting for a couple of months, hoping to preorder today. But I'll just have to wait patiently till the 27th
🤬
And keep watching the boards, incase there's an early update.

Hmm, hopefully it is the 27th and not delayed any further although I'm not expecting the prices to be any good, especially if there's a sudden near-30%-rise in the price of the quote I had saved from a couple days ago.

Are you sure you're comparing the same quotes? The spec you listed above has only gone up £2?

It's gone back down to £1486 now, not sure what happened then. Definitely was the same quote, I duplicated and refreshed the page since I've had it open all morning and then went through seeing all the components were the same.

Absolutely, another 9 days is torture as it is 😁
I think that PCS wasn't alone in having a pre-order date today. Many of the other computer builders were offering the same date.

Pricing is a strange thing, supply and demand play a large part, not just the cost of manufacture plus profit margin, etc.
Now the new stuff pre-order is on hold, but the supply of the 'old' stuff will have slowed down, because they'll have changed some of their production lines to make the new stuff. Possibly there are people not able to wait another week. Although how that would impact on delivery date I don't know.

That must be a different spec to the one you have posted above. That's priced at £1,484.00 inc' VAT, which has gone up by a whole 2 quid.

Just a quick question for the build, I've got 2x16GB of DDR4 2666 (not PCS provided RAM sticks) in my current PC but would I be able to add that to this build if I change the selection to the '32GB PCS PRO DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)' or would it be better just selling these and going for a 16/32GB kit of DDR4 3200(or 3600)?

Well the new motherboards with AMD Ryzen 7000 cpu's are DDR5.
And like DDR3 to 4, they aren't interchangeable.

If you're keeping with that spec ^^, it depends on what you want.
If you're already stretching your budget, 2 x 16 2666. If you can afford it, 3200 is the sweet spot for DDR4, bang for buck.
DDR5 knocks DDR4 out of the park.

I'd better mention, I'm only regurgitating what I've been reading in these forums recently. I'm an old computer geek, catching up slowly on new computer gear. Not anything like as expert as a lot of other members in here. They know what I'm just starting to learn.

Ok, I honestly don't really have a clue what I'm doing with this stuff so I'm just hoping a combination of asking and googling will result in a decent build for me. I'm trying to keep my budget low, but when I see something better is only like £20-£50 more, I add that, but as that sums up I see my £1500 build has turned into a £2000 build which I'm not sure I want to be spending that much.
At the end of the day as long as the PC runs very smooth, has no problems and I can dip into a bit of 4k gaming then it's fine for me. Only problem is, as well as building a PC there's other things that I'd want to get such as a 4k monitor, new headset, probably new speakers because I listen to music nearly 24/7 and better sound quality would be nice. I've got a spare unopened Valve Index that I really need to get sold which I could probably increase my budget with that money.
This stuff is just all money money money at the end of the day 😭
