I posted some comments re: refresh rate and FPS etc in your other thread.

If you want 1080p with 144hz then PCS sell the AOC G2460PF 24", which seems to have favourable reviews:

For 1440p 60hz but with an IPS panel there is the AOC Q2577PWQ, which has excellent reviews

It's not sold by PCS but seems to be available from around £230

IPS panels can have much better colour reproduction and viewing angles than TN panels. https://pcmonitors.info/articles/lcd-panel-types-explored/

sorry for late reply. i have decided to increase the amount i am willing to spend as i am coming to the realisation that for what i want i will need to spend more so i am thinking of purchasing the Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q although not an ips panel i have read that this is one of the best tn models out there, is ips really worth another £150 for the pg279q? and also if i do purchase this monitor will i be able to use my current gaming tv that im using as my monitor as a second monitor by connecting the pg279q via display port and connecting the tv with a hdmi?

As for what X is worth, that's up to you as the one spending the money. I don't have personal experience of the monitor so can't give you an opinion.

But it is supposed to be excellent, and has gsync which is very good for getting a smoother gameplay experience.

You may also like to consider the Dell S2716DG, which has proven quite popular on these forums (insofar as a £500 monitor can be said to be 'popular'). It too is 1440p, fast response time, with gsync.

and also if i do purchase this monitor will i be able to use my current gaming tv that im using as my monitor as a second monitor by connecting the pg279q via display port and connecting the tv with a hdmi?
I don't see why not, should be fine afaics. :)
