New Laptop Guidance

Hi
My wife's laptop has just given up the ghost and looking at this spec as a replacement. It's most probably overkill for her requirements but I want a laptop that won't be obsolete in a few years time. Any comments on setup appreciated and is there any possible problem with HDDs or cooling?
Many thanks

Well, it's fine in and of itself...without knowing her requirements, it's impossible to say if it's overkill or if it needs modifying as well as our budget. Knowing these will help as, sometimes, a different laptop chassis may be better
Agreed. What's it for? What's your maximum budget? That's no so we can try to upsell you, its so that we don't suggest changes that you can't afford. :)

As far as your 'HDDs' go you don't actually have any :). Those two SSDs are fine, though the Barracuda might be a tad on the smaller size these days? It depends on what you'll be using it for of course but if that drive is a data drive it would possibly make more sense to go for a 1TB HDD instead of a 500GB SSD?

Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry I wasn't more specific. Dare I say the cost side isn't an issue. My wife mainly uses it for web browsing, emails, photos, online work training and being able to work from home. I know you'll say the above spec is overkill but I want one that will still be relatively upto date say in 4 or 5 years time. Do you think the 2 drives are suitable? I don't think she needs a 1TB drive. No mention of cooling so presume it doesn't have problems with this spec? She is not a gamer (in the nicest possible sense!).

If you want a laptop for your usecl case to be relevant in 4 or 5 years, you should look at best CPU, reasonably fast SSD (NVMe) and most upgradable RAM, though I don't think you'll need more than 32gb in 5 years.
GPU is indeed only a 'nice-to-have' in this case, and imo is even optional, as it's a battery drain and a heat issue every time it switches on.
Perhaps something that also looks nice and is from metal and not plastic, to be more durable to wear and tear.
