Is it for gaming?

I would increase your Hard Drive to a 7200 RPM, it will greatly reduce your loading times.

Other than that its a good specification you have there.

Also the Vortex has a built in Webcam do you require a separate one?

Also you can get the 17.3" for £7 more with the faster hard driver, if you were interested, its also capable of taking an additional HD should you ever require it and it has more speakers built into the Chassis .

The 17" Chassis is cheaper than the 15 for some reason, could be due to demand.

If its already under processing you may not be able to change the Chassis

Hi there,

It's not necessarily for "hardcore gaming" (Got my PC for that), the only games I will probably use it for are FIFA, Skyrim, etc (Doesn't have to be on ultra settings or anything) whilst I am away from home.
I do require the separate webcam.

Thanks for the reply and recommendation, however I am unable to change the chassis size. (Only option available is to change to an AUO MATTE 95% Gamut)

Having looked at the available HD's that I can change to, I have found the 750GB WD Scorpio Black with 7200rpm, however it has 16mb cache and SATA 3GB/s (Whereas the SSHD has 64MB cache and SATA 6GB/s)

Would there be any real speed difference, obviously the Scorpio Black has higher RPM, but lower cache and SATA speeds?

I was recommend the Hybrid drive, I don't know much about them

I'm willing to give it a go, it's faster too so y'know..

Edit:

Second working day, it has been built and just waiting on the blu-ray drive now!

At work we have both windows 7 and windows 8 laptops (identical spec). There's not really any noticable difference. The biggest issue as well is that most of the options on windows 7 are still in windows 8, just hidden away in really, really annoying and hard to find places.

If you consider yourself at all a technical user, get windows 7 not 8. Seriously.

(Only if you want to, I mean it's your build, but that's my experience and my opinion is shared by a lot of people)

I'll give Windows 8 a go, I've got a spare copy of 7 lying around so if I change my mind I can do so!
