I had put up with a slowing laptop for a couple of years and a few recently purchased, graphics-heavy games that ran at a crawl convinced me it was time to get something better. The PC Specialist site was a great find. It was possible to fine tune the configuration to meet your needs and was easy for moderately techy types like myself to understand. The configuration process and ordering was staright-forward. There was plenty of tips and advice in the forums so I didn't even bother with asking the tech team any questions directly. They gave a realistic timescale for delivery (which they met) and I was given updates in the intervening period between order and delivery as reassurance.

The box arrived and the machine booted and loaded without problems. After loading a few of my specialist applications and utilities I was fully converted and my old laptop relegated to zoom meetings. Games leapt onto the screen where I would previously be able to get a cup of tea while waiting. Photoshop images zip around the screen and save in seconds. So enjoyable! The only slight disappointment is the volume and quality of sound out of the on-board speakers. This was particularly noticeable on a group zoom call. However the laptop is usually connected to a large screen via HDMI and the sound via this is fine. I have also connected a bluetooth speaker if I am away from my desk/screen and that works fine too.

Overall, very happy with the laptop and the service provided by PC Specialists.

Glad all went well and you like it. Unfortunately laptop sound is never great, one of the trade off for cramming everything into a small are.

I also use home hifi or a soundbar, luckily some quite decent soundbars about and not too expensive.

...Oh and I forgot to say that I did have some trouble connecting the WiFi to my BT Home hub. It would occasionally link and then when the laptop went to sleep it lost all sight of the wifi adaptor. I changed it down from the default 5GHz to 2.4Ghz and it all seems to run fine now. Not sure if this is a problem with the BT wifi router config od the wifi card in the laptop.
