New Laptop

I am very pleased with my new laptop from PCSPCIALIST. It was delivered on
time and to the required specification and amply fulfills my expectations.
Having said that three minor points.
1)This concerns Windows 11, of which, compared with Windows 10, this is my
first experience. It may be a characteristic
of this operating system, but apps take a very long time to install. HP Smart, for
example took over twelve hours and even preinstalled apps like maps and clock,
before they were usable, embarked on updates, taking several hours.
2) The power lead which compared to the one for my previous ASUS
laptop is rather clunkey. You may consider producing a lighter power lead
with interchangeable pins for the UK, Europe and the US. Given that laptops
are designed for travel this may be a useful selling point.
3) Two dvd's were provided with the laptop, each labelled Device Drivers &
Utilities + User's Manual, although they appear to have different bar codes.
They are not mentioned in the Welcome Booklet and since the laptop has no
dvd drive they are not accessible. If the material is important it would
be better if it had been provided on a memory stick.

That's not normal, it should be fairly instant. Sounds like perhaps the windows updates and optional updates haven't been applied and there's a networking issue.

PCS don't make any of the chassis, they're TongFang and Clevo models which are sold all over the world. Custom laptops are very different to an off the shelf option like Asus, the customisability is what people want at a much lower cost. To cost save, things like power bricks are mass produced, they're never going to be the same quality as a branded laptop.

All that content is in your online account, the CD's are for those who require them. It's not something you need.
