Hi everyone. I am a new member to PC Specialist and I made my first order today. I am a lecturer of IT and Computing and have been working with computers at a detailed level since around 2005. Despite dabbling with Windows 95 and 98 in my younger days, I really started out with Windows 2000; things really got serious once Windows XP came out. Do I game? Yeah kinda, although I dip in and out and prefer casual game play. I am a keen player on Second Life, the free-roaming open world game where you create your own avatar and all worlds (sims) are user-created. Back in the day I was an avid console gamer on Nintendo 64 and PlayStation One. I have recently got back into PC gaming, starting with Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition. This is what brought me to purchase a new gaming PC. I previously had a high-spec Apple iMac 27" 4K system with Windows 10 running native in Bootcamp; this was okay but you never got true performance or the frame rate. So I sold my beloved iMac and went to get a gaming PC.

Although I am not going out of my way to name and shame companies, I did order a custom gaming rig with Dino PC. This turned out to be a disaster with no correspondence or product. I have used them before, hence my lack of customer review reading. I am currently in a dispute case led by PayPal over this, and possibly trading standards. But in the meantime, I went to PC Specialist to order another PC. I'm going to share the spec in the forums shortly. They have been fantastic so far and I hear great things about them. I just wish I came here in the first place. So yes, I am excited about the arrival of a new PC, but at the same time it is a sore topic with a pending refund case going on with the other company. Don't let me down PC Specialist! ;)

Welcome to the forums :)

Sorry to hear about the experience elsewhere - hope it gets sorted favourably and without too much further hassle.

While PCS shouldn't let you down (certainly hope they don't!) be aware that the forums aren't an official support channel, they're mostly for the customer community to share advice and opinions. So if there are any issues, best option would be to pick up the phone to PCS. They tend to be very responsive by phone; email can take a little longer.

Thanks @Oussebon and @ubuysa for the welcome. You'll be glad to know that I got a full refund from the other company after I complained via every communication medium known to man (literally lol). To add salt to the wounds, my first PCS order had to be cancelled as it was drastically wrong; a big thanks to those in the 'Check this spec' thread who spotted the flaws. All sorted now and the new PC is currently in the testing phase.
